As a recruiter in the Analytics space, I have seen a massive increase in the number of candidates looking to move into a Data Science role. Whether it is the chance to innovate a business, or the chance to stay ahead technically - it seems this is the trendiest role of the last two years.
I work with candidates from all sorts of skill sets including your traditional BI Analysts to Digital Analysts and they all want to make the move over. Some have even dropped their careers and gone to do a Masters / PHD in Data Science to start again.
Reading Robert Pitney's article below shows that the move is absolutely possible - and a perfect example of how determination and mindset can get you anywhere.
What is it that makes this career so interesting?
And how easy has it been for those of you who have made the move into Data Science?
Data Science has been hailed as the sexiest job of the 21st century. This news has understandably had an influence over today’s college undergraduates and even high school students. But can a person who is mid-career — who has invested proverbial blood along with real sweat and tears into a different path — act on this news? Is it possible to transition into Data Science later in life? “It depends.”
